Why we're free for the first audit. Forever.
Most fintech apps follow a script: free tier, premium gate, eventual paywall around the thing you actually wanted. The audit you need to run on your own credit cards — what we would call the audit — typically sits behind one of two things in this market: a subscription, or a marketing funnel that quietly resells your transaction data.
We’re not doing that.
The audit is the proof
Verosum exists because of a single observation: most affluent Indian credit-card users leak ₹10–30k a year, quietly, mostly through swiping the wrong card at the wrong moment. The audit is the thing that shows them this.
If we charge for the audit, two things happen:
- The user who needs us most — the one who hasn’t yet seen the ₹14,247 number on their own statements — has to pay before they can know whether we’re worth paying for. That’s a trust gap we cannot bridge.
- We become the kind of company that makes promises behind a paywall. Which is, structurally, the kind of company we said we wouldn’t be.
What we’ll charge for, later
The audit is one moment. Our v2 — the live layer — is a service: real-time wrong-card alerts, mile-expiry tracking, refinance triggers, automatic re-routing recommendations. That’s continuous work on our side, and it’s reasonable to charge for it. If you opt into that, the audit is also part of the package — bundled, not paid-for-separately.
Early waitlist users get grandfathered pricing on the live layer, locked at launch rates, forever. We wrote that into our trust contract before we wrote anything else.
The risk we’re taking
The honest version is: charging for the audit would have been the easier business model. We expect this commitment to cost us conversion in the short term — visitors who would have paid ₹500 for an audit just to see what they leak.
We’re betting that the cc geek who reads this paragraph thinks, finally — and tells three friends.
